| This Institute – ‘Raghunath Ayurved Mahavidyalaya & Hospital’ is run by a ‘Trust- Ayurved Sevak Sangha ’ (A non-profit organization) which was founded in the year 1944 by Kaviraj Raghunath Maity, a famous Ayurvedic practioner, freedom fighter & a social worker in this area. Its hospital section started functioning from the beginning in 1944, and the academic activities started from the year 1949 with teaching an Ayurvedic course titled ‘ASF’ (Ayurvedic state faculties). This ‘ASF’ course was taught successfully till 1980, and more than one thousand students passed out from this institution who established themselves as good Ayurvedic practioners in the different parts of West Bengal & neighboring States. Many entered into the government services as Medical Officer, Research Officer & as Ayurvedic Pharmacist as well. |
