| Unani Colleges and Hospitals are vastly established in all over India but in the state of West Bengal there was no such facility till 1994 when the All India Unani Tibbi Conference (West Bengal unit) having its Head Office in Delhi took the responsibility to provide medical education and to promote Research, founded the Calcutta Unani Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The Calcutta Unani Medical College & Hospital was founded in 1994 with infatigable efforts of Hk. Syed Faizan Ahmad, Governing Body, along with great people like Late Mir Abdus Sayeed MLA,Late Justice K.M.Yusuf, Late, Hk. Syed Nehal Ahmad, Late Hk. Mazhar Nabi, Late Hakim Mohd. Sayeed Khan, Late Hakim Yusuf Bakshi, Hk. Md. Ansarul Haque, Hk. Irshad Ahmed Khan, Hk. Salim Adib, and numbers of other notable individuals. |
