| Originally known as Assam Homoeopathic Medical College, Dr. J.K.S. Homoeopathic Medical College was founded on October 2, 1975. Subsequently, it was renamed Dr. J. K. Saikia Homoeopathic Medical College in honor of Dr. Jiba Kanta Saikia, the first director of health services for the Assamese government, who donated the main building. Since 1996, this institute has been offering Homoeopathy at the undergraduate level (B.H.M.S.) with success. This course was once associated with Dibrugarh University, but it is now offered annually with 50 places at Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Science, Guwahati, Assam. |
